Why Should You Book a Block of Rooms at Your Wedding Reception Hotel Venue?

Blog

There's so much to do when you're planning a wedding that it can be tempting to skip booking a block of hotel rooms for your guests, but it's something you should really take care of. Here are just a few reasons why.

Discounted Room Rates

One of the best things about a hotel wedding reception venue is being able to get a deal on your rooms. When you book a block of rooms, you should see even greater savings, and you can pass those discounts on to any guests, especially when you will be booking early. The hotel gets to fill every room, and your guests get to stay somewhere nice without having to pay top dollar.

Many soon-to-be newlyweds worry that they'll have to pay a huge deposit, but this isn't always the case. Most hotels that cater for wedding receptions have special blocks used for weddings—if you're already holding the reception there, you probably won't need to pay a deposit. Better yet, you might get the honeymoon suite itself at a discount.

Easier for Your Guests

It's rare to have a wedding that doesn't see a few guests travelling a long way to attend. Even if nobody is, not everyone knows about the best hotels in a certain area. That's why booking a block of rooms simply makes things easier for your guests. You can put the information right on your wedding website or traditional invitation. Any guests who want to spend the night can then look up the hotel and make a booking without having to worry about comparing rates or looking up how close different accommodation venues are to your reception.

All in all, it's a nice gesture that's going to be appreciated by any wedding guests travelling longer distances for your big day.

Keeps Everyone Together

Finally, keep in mind that most hotels that serve as wedding venues are on the larger side, and this can be a problem when you want everyone to be together. Your guests may want to have a few drinks at night or get up in the morning and have a nice breakfast together. It's also a lot easier for everyone to get ready and do their makeup when rooms are right next to each other, and it's going to be much more convenient herding everyone to together if they need to travel to another venue for the actual ceremony.

When you book a block of rooms, your wedding guests get their own little section of the hotel.

Traveling with my grandkids

I love to spend time with my grandkids and I've decided that I want to do some traveling with them. It's amazing to see how they see the world and it helps to open me up to seeing the world differently as well. It can be hard to find accommodation that works for one senior and 3 children which is why I thought I'd start a blog about traveling grandkids. I have reviews on differents hotels and tips on finding affordable accommodation when traveling with the grandkids. I hope I can inspire other grandparents to get out and travel with their grandkids.
